About Molly

Molly was born and raised in the beautiful city of Frankfort, Kentucky. When she demonstrated a quick and natural ear for music, she began piano lessons at the age of three and moved on to Suzuki violin lessons at age four. At nine, she went on to study at the preparatory department at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has extensive training including time at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the teaching of David Updegraff.  

She appeared on NPR as a young violinist on the radio program "From the Top" and demonstrated technique and music history on a video toolkit developed by PBS and KET.  She was a featured performer at the the Governor's Tribute to Freedom (in honor of the 9/11 victims) and the Governor's Prayer Breakfast. Although Molly is a classically trained violinist, violist, and vocalist, her music is infused with a folk, bluegrass, and jazz performance style stemming from her Kentucky roots where she learned to let loose her improvisational skills. 

Molly has performed all over the world in over 30 different countries. She has shared the stage with, worked with, or recorded for a wide range of artists including David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Kendrick Lamar, Journey, Pharrell, Smokey Robinson, Miley Cyrus, John Legend, Shawn Mendes, ODESZA, Pentatonix, Andra Day, Evanescence, Lindsey Sterling, Em Beihold, Panic! at the Disco, Train, Tyler the Creator, Bastille, Damian Marley, Kimbra, Kamasi Washington, X Ambassadors, LeAnn Rimes, Iggy Azalea, Tenacious D, Feist, and Matt Corby, as well as opening up for Amy Grant as a second-time soloist with the Louisville Orchestra. Her television credits include the Grammy Awards, the Late Late Show with James Corden (including a spot on Carpool Karaoke featuring Kelly Clarkson) the MTV movie awards, the ESPY Awards, the American Music Awards, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.  Molly’s string and vocal work can be heard on film and television scores across many networks including  Netflix, Hulu, Disney, and HBO. She has performed on scores such as Oppenheimer, Dungeons and Dragons, Turning Red, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), The Lion King (2019), First Man, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Star Trek: “Strange New Worlds”, Star Trek: “Picard”, The Simpsons, and Marvel’s Agents of Shield, and on video game scores such as Gears of War 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Fortnite. 

Molly has performed on select tour dates with Adele, as well as Portugal. the Man, and has toured internationally as part of a string septet with Yoshiki of X Japan. She has also toured internationally as the violin soloist, violist, and additional vocalist for “Game of Thrones” Live.  In 2020 she was engaged as the violinist for “The Last Ship”, written by and starring Sting. Since 2017 she has been touring as a violin, viola, and vocal soloist for “Hans Zimmer Live” and you can catch her on tour with that show throughout 2023.

Molly works as a freelance artist and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and creative partner, renowned guitarist Scott Goldbaum, and their golden retriever Capo. She is available for session work, including remote sessions from her home, and as a composer and arranger for commission. She frequently arranges for and performs with her string quartet, Orchid Quartet. She is a proud member of the 64 Audio family and is currently represented commercially by the Osbrink Agency.
